Biografia
Miroslav Bulešić (1917–1945) was a Croatian Catholic priest and martyr who died during the persecution of the Church in the aftermath of World War II in Yugoslavia. Ordained to the priesthood, he served his community with pastoral dedication despite the increasingly hostile environment toward Catholic clergy. During the communist persecution that followed the war, Bulešić was imprisoned and tortured for his refusal to abandon his priestly ministry and Catholic faith. He exemplified the suffering of countless priests in Eastern Europe who maintained their witness to Christ amid ideological oppression. His martyrdom occurred during a period of intense religious suppression when priests faced execution, forced laicization, and systematic persecution. Bulešić's death represents the broader tragedy of Catholic clergy who chose fidelity to their vocation over survival under communist regimes. His memory is honored as a testimony to priestly courage and sacrificial love.
