Životopis
Spyridon was a 4th-century Cypriot bishop whose life exemplified humble Christian virtue combined with miraculous power. Originally a shepherd, he became a dedicated pastor known for extraordinary works of mercy and healing. As Bishop of Trimithus on Cyprus, Spyridon distinguished himself through practical charity—famously providing for a widow's family and defending the poor and oppressed. Numerous miraculous accounts surround his life: he reportedly cured his daughter's fever, resurrected a dead child, and performed various wonders demonstrating divine favor. Spyridon's reputation for holiness earned him a place at the Council of Nicaea (325 CE), where he defended orthodox Christian faith against Arian heresy. Distinguished by his simple, unpretentious manner and profound faith, Spyridon remained connected to pastoral concerns even while exercising ecclesiastical authority. Venerated extensively in Eastern Orthodox tradition, he died around 348 CE, remembered as a shepherd-bishop whose genuine holiness transformed countless lives.
