Životopis
Paisius (1924-1994) was a renowned Greek Orthodox monk and spiritual elder of Mount Athos. Born Archimandrite Paisios Eznepidis, he spent over fifty years in monastic life, becoming one of the most influential spiritual figures of the 20th century. Living in a small hermitage on Mount Athos, he devoted himself to prayer, ascetic practice, and spiritual guidance. Despite his remote location, thousands sought his counsel for spiritual direction and healing. Paisius possessed remarkable discernment, wisdom, and prophetic gifts, offering guidance on personal struggles, spiritual warfare, and contemporary Christian challenges. His teachings emphasized repentance, prayer, and authentic spiritual struggle. Though never formally canonized, he is widely venerated throughout the Orthodox Church. His collected sayings and spiritual insights continue to guide believers worldwide, addressing both monastic and lay Christian life with profound spiritual depth.
