Životopis
Marija Petković (1892–1966) was a Croatian visionary and foundress of the Daughters of Mercy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Born in Blato on the island of Korčula, she experienced profound spiritual experiences from childhood. In 1925, she founded a religious community dedicated to serving the poor and sick, emphasizing interior prayer and apostolic charity. During World War II and its aftermath, she endured persecution and hardship while maintaining her commitment to her community's mission. Her spirituality centered on Marian devotion and Christ's Passion. Though her mystical experiences were not officially recognized by the Church during her lifetime, her community continues her work of mercy and contemplative prayer. She died in Gorica, Bosnia, and her cause for canonization reflects her holiness and dedication to serving the marginalized.
